Hello everyone! Well, it’s typical Michigan weather… it looks beautifully sunny from the inside but it’s cold and windy when you get out there!
Now that i’ve finished painting my room a lovely Nantucket Grey, I am happy to be painting with pastels again! I have two more pieces in progress of horses that i’ve had on my mind lately. A Friesian stallion and a buckskin QH we used to own. Stay tuned!!
So, juggling classes, work and art has been interesting but now i’ve had the guts to include guitar lessons again! I’m glad to do it though, as playing music seems to get me in the mood to paint. Again thank you for visiting my site and keep an eye out for new stuff!!
Well, winter is most definitely here. We got dumped on with lake affect snow here in Michigan and the flurries just keep coming! This post is to wish you all who visit my site a very warm and wonderful Christmas! May you find peace within your home and joy with your families this season. I know I will be looking forward to Christmas break from school and getting some catch up done with my half finished projects that lay around the house. Well, the beautiful leaves have all blown away sadly and i’ve been cleaning out my closets to get ready for a long winter. I have a few paintings that i’m offering for sale, they are ones i’ve done a while back in high school. Please scroll down to see them.

There is something for everyone down in Grand Rapids these days. Artprize has been quite the experience so far… There is more than enough art on almost every corner and in all kinds of shops around the city to keep you entertained for hours. I must say though, the work that is displayed has caused me to think over what my own art pursuits are, or what they can be. Everyone’s trying to say something, they all want to be heard. From the most abstract piece of canvas to a photorealism drawing. I am slowly learning to see what they see… be it different or very similar to my own opinions. Art is communication. Art can be confusing. Art is a lot of things…
I have begun to post the pictures from Serenity Farm’s Dressage show from the 5th! Please take a look on the Photography page, there’s some awesome horses and riders in there! It was a privilege to be able to be there and take pictures on that beautiful day. Saturday’s weather was a bit unpredictable, but that didn’t stop the large group of horse lovers that gathered at the Friesian Connection farm that afternoon. And it wasn’t just the ‘all you can eat’ ice cream that attracted them! It was getting a chance to get a glimpse of the gorgeous, nationally known Friesian Stallions that were to perform that day. Please check out some cool photos on the photography page and take a look at how beautiful these animals are!
It is another sunny day, beautiful and bright. I gave some horse lessons this morning and worked on the the website some more. There are new pictures under “photography”. I have a pastel painting in progress of the neighbor’s Fresian, Luke, as well as a series of six paintings for our church that need to be done by October. And then I have to finish up the Mural by the time school starts. Whew! Stay tuned for more updates!

There are still a lot of beautiful photos from the Serenity Dressage show, so let your friends know! Mean while, we’ve decided to put our young horse up for sale if anyone is interested. She is a registered paint with beautiful markings. She is currently in another 30 days training, her pictures are the first two in the ‘horses’ section of ‘Photography’.
